Jonah was born and raised in Sussex, WI. During his youth, him and his family enjoyed the various festivals and arts programs of the surrounding cities including Summerfest, Art Fair on the Square, and the Milwaukee Ballet. Jonah was involved in many different activities throughout high school including the Scouting Movement, Band, and National Honors Society. He received many awards through these programs including the Eagle Scout Award, numerous district and state level music awards, and School Board Recognition for his band mentorship program.
Jonah decided to attend Iowa State University because of the high esteem of the College of Engineering’s programs. He also jokes that he also attended to rebel against his mainly “Hawkeye” family. Currently, he is studying Chemical Engineering, and hopes to work in the pharmaceutical industry after he graduates college with the possibility of pursuing a graduate degree later on.
What drew Jonah to the Greek Community at Iowa State was his sister’s experience in her own Greek Community at her university. Jonah saw the positive effects of sisterhood and friendship on her college experience and knew that he wanted a similar experience for himself. Acacia Fraternity stood out to him because of the men’s commitment to human service and their genuine sense of a connected brotherhood. He hopes to gain many memories and valuable life experiences by being a part of the chapter and developing a closer bond with his fellow brothers.
